UNO Magazine releases The Mocha Girls Special

If you think that the Mocha Girls are just a simple girl group that gets TV time by looking pretty and sexy on variety shows, think again.
There is more to the Mocha Girls than just skin-deep attraction.

Landing on the cover of UNO, the ultimate guide for men in the Philippines, proves there is more to them than just scintillating looks and come-hither moves.

This all-girl pop group has seen its share of beautiful faces come and go. One thing that has remained constant is the founder and the person who lent her name to the group, ringleader Mocha Uson. She is fiery, spirited, and a true leader.

Mocha says what keeps the group going is the drive to reinvent itself. The current members were not there when Mocha Girls started seven years ago. But Mae, Franz, Seika, Georgina, Jhane together with Mocha have found a way to use each other's strengths and complement them to form a cohesive, well-oiled pop group that thrives on reinvention.

Mae uses her sweet personality to create the group's choreography; Franz comes across as the anti-thesis to pop with her naughty hip-hop moves; Jhane is both rocker-chic and alluring belly dancer; Seika provides the J-Pop flavor; Georgina brings the fashionista model to the stage and bringing it all together is Mocha, post-modern feminist and superwoman in one sexy, smart package.

Because of the versatile talent the girls bring to the group, Mocha Girls has earned its share of awards for their pop hits. With every new song they have released they continue to prove they are not a one-hit girl-group wonder. No wonder then that they bagged Best Dance Album in the 2009 PMPC Star Awards for Music for Deliciosa and Best Dance Album in the 2012 PMPC Star Awards for Music for 18+ Restricted.
In this issue of UNO magazine, readers and Mocha Girls fans will be treated to a veritable visual feast of the girls in different titillating poses. With lots of skin bared too. It's like Christmas all over again. From racy poses to barely there clothing, the girls show that they can manage to capture a guy's attention while sharing something sensible about themselves in the process.

The sharing by each member is what makes this UNO issue even more special. The informative featurettes on each member of the group provide a rare glimpse into how the girls think, how they feel about things and situations around them...think of it as a one-on-one date with a girl you like.

The girls even let readers in on their recent escapades abroad with an exclusive behind the scenes peek at their Japan and Canada tours.

And the surprise bonus? The issue contains a free calendar inside, featuring, of course, the Mocha Girls.

Go ahead, treat yourself to a dose of Mocha and her girls. It's gonna be well worth it to find out what gets these six ladies going, moving, and rising up.

UNO magazine is available in all leading bookstores and magazine stands nationwide.

EXPERIENCE AN UNPRECEDENTED KIND OF REAL IN “WALKING WITH DINOSAURS: THE 3D MOVIE”

For the first time in movie history, audiences will truly see and feel what it was like when dinosaurs ruled the Earth.  “Walking with Dinosaurs: The 3D Movie” is the ultimate immersive, big-screen adventure for families.  You’ll meet dinosaurs more real than you’ve ever seen as you embark on a thrilling prehistoric journey, where Patchi, an underdog dino, triumphs against all odds to become a hero for the ages.
Featuring the voices of Patchi’s heroics and antics resonate in any era, but he is also a product of his times and stomping grounds – the latter part of the Cretaceous Period, about 70 million years ago in a land we now call Alaska.
Audiences will really get behind Patchi and root for this underdog hero to triumph. The movie points to our continuing fascination, if not obsession with creatures that have been extinct for millions of years.  The T. Rex and the Gorgosaurus are among the most fearsome predators to have ever walked the Earth, but kids (of all ages) can’t get enough of them.  Dinosaurs spark our imaginations as much as any fictional creation does.

“Kids love dinosaurs, and they’re going to love “Walking with Dinosaurs” because it feels so real, has lots of humor and fun,” says John Leguizamo, who voices Alex, a prehistoric parrot who is Patchi’s best pal.  “Plus, they’ll love the camaraderie between Patchi and Alex.”  Dinosaurs combine the best of two worlds: they’re scary, but because dinos haven’t been around for millions of years, they’re non-threatening.
Co-director Neil Nightingale believes our enduring obsession with them is here to stay.  “Dinosaurs are the most amazing creatures to have ever existed on our planet. In four and a half billion years of Earth’s existence, there have been no creatures that are more dramatic or terrifying.  Dinosaurs fascinate us because they represent a sort of safe danger.  You can be scared of them but not too scared because they are long gone.  They’re not going to come out from under the bed or pounce on you in the dark!  And it is not just dinosaurs we are talking about; it is The Age of Dinosaurs.  It is amazing to know that the world we now live in, the skies above us and the stars we see were once their realm– incredible animals now lost to prehistoric history.”
“In bringing WALKING WITH DINOSAURS to the big screen, we wanted to transport audiences back to a real world, to meet dinosaurs that truly existed and to immerse audiences in that world,” Nightingale continues.  “For a big motion picture experience it’s also vital to have a strong and emotionally engaging story.  So we used what we know about Late Cretaceous Alaskan dinosaurs as inspiration for a fictional, character-driven story we knew would entertain families.”
In bringing the dinosaurs back to life, the producers have prepared these amazing tutorial videos on How To Draw A Dinosaur:

‘My Little Bossings’ Brings Whiff of Fresh Air to MMFF 2013

Not every generation produces a child star but this year, we have not just one but two of them who are set to show people that like Christmas, the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is all about children even in making the tills sing.
My Little Bossings MIFF 2013
“My Little Bossings” is a movie whose time has come. Ever since the project was bared, the public has been counting months, waiting with bated breath how the precocious Ryzza Mae Dizon will jive with the decorous James “Bimby” Aquino Yap, Both charming and intelligent, but one street smart and the other “socially elite,” it’s an intriguing pairing indeed.

As shooting progressed and as the two kids warmed up to each other and established rapport on and off screen, it became clear that “My Little Bossings” is more than mere curious case. It’s a casting dynamo bound to shakeup the MMFF and steal thunder from anything that crosses its path. “Nakakatuwa talaga yung dalawang bata. They complement each other so well. You can see that when you watch the movie. Nagtuturuan, nagtatawanan, sabay napapagod, sabay nagugutom. Masaya lang kami sa set. Para lang kaming laging naglalaro,” said “My Little Bossings” lead star and co-producer, Vic Sotto.
Kris Aquino, Ryzza Mae Dizon and James Bimby Aquino
That is another thing going for the film: the sure success of “My Little Bossings” doesn’t rest just on the shoulders of Ryzza Mae and Bimby, but those of giants. One of the MMFF Box-office King’s co-stars is also royalty, none other than Queen of All Media and MMFF Box-office Queen Kris Aquino. It is said that one of Kris’ reasons in accepting the film is that she wanted her son Bimby’s first experience in making movies to be with someone of Vic’s stature and humility.
Ryzza Mae Dizon and James Bimby Aquino
For years, the MMFF doesn’t seem to be complete without a starrer from either Vic or Kris or both. This time they join hands; matching stellar power with stellar power, showbiz might with showbiz might, midas touch with midas touch. How can “My Little Bossings” not turn to gold?
James Bimby Aquino and Vic Sotto

As most things come in threes, the power of the dream project doesn’t end there. “My Little Bossings” is produced by OctoArts Films, M-Zet Films, APT Entertainment and Kris Aquino Productions all of which have brought out their guns to ensure that it is a heartwarming, quality movie through and through. More than the big names attached to the film, “My Little Bossings” is a family film packed with lessons wrapped in humor, wit and laughter---exactly what we need in times like these.

Vic plays the role Torky Villanueva who works as a bookeeper for the millionaire cash management specialist Baba Atienza (Kris). Because of some conflict in her business, Baba entrusts her son Justin (Bimby) to Torky’s care for fear of her life. In the meantime, Torky’s niece Ice (Aiza) who lives in the same house with him, is involved in an advocacy for street children where street kid Ching (Ryzza ) becomes her special ward. Ice brings Ching home when the orphanage closed down. The fun begins when all these people start living in one roof while they each tackle his respective personal dilemma.

“My Little Bossings” also stars Aiza Seguerra, Jaclyn Jose, Jose Manalo, Paolo Ballesteros, Barbie Forteza, Neil Coleta, and Neil Sese from the direction of Marlon Rivera. Story and screenplay by Bibeth Orteza.

“My Little Bossings” starts showing on Christmas Day as an entry to the 2013 MMFF.

YOSHINOYA GLORIETTA WELCOMES MS. EARTH 2013 DELEGATES

Last Monday (November 18, 2013), we got the chance to join the staff of Yoshinoya Restaurant in Glorietta 1, Makati City in welcoming some of the Miss Earth 2013 delegates.

Shown in the above picture (L-R) are Misses Guadeloupe, India and China.

Guadeloupe is a group of Caribbean islands. It is sometimes known as the Butterfly Island because of the shape of two of its major islands. It is an integral part of France.

You will notice that Miss Guadeloupe did not use chopsticks. She preferred to use fork for her salad as compared to her seatmates Misses India and China who both are Asians.
They were divided into three groups. They played a game of picking up marshmallows with chopsticks.
Group two won the game. Each member of the group got a Yoshinoya mug.
The Yoshinoya staff and some bloggers were very happy to meet and interview the delegates of Miss Earth 2013. They were so nice and beautiful.

WHAT’S A MOTHER TO DO IN “DON’T CRY MOMMY”

Korea’s most recent controversial drama thriller, “Don’t Cry Mommy” unleashes a mother’s fury who seeks revenge for her daughter’s tragic death. Starring Yoo Sun as the mother named Yoo-lim whose only reason to live is her daughter who peacefully faces a new life after divorce. Nam Bo-ra takes on the role of her daughter Eun-ah, a teenage girl whose tragic experience with young love triggers her suicide.
Enrolled in a new school after her parents’ divorce, Eun-ah’s first experience in teenage romance turns into a nightmare as she becomes the victim of gang-rape perpetrated by those she knew in school that triggers her to take her own life.
Directed by Kim Yong-Han from a screenplay by Lee Sang-Hyeon, the movie is based on various true accounts and tackles unapologetically the hidden problems in the nation.  The movie also stars U-Kiss’ pop icon Dong-Ho as Jo-han who preyed on the innocence of Eun-ha along with his friends Pak Joon (Kwan Hyun-Sang) and Min-gu (Lee Sang-Min).
After all efforts failed to jail the minor perpetrators of Eun-ha’s death, Yoo-lim takes matters into her own hands even if it means breaking the law.  The movie was scripted with Yoo Sun in mind due to her remarkably strong portrayals in her previous films. “There are so many emotional scenes in the movie and sometimes, I would be filming emotional scenes all day long, until dawn.  It was very tiring but I had to keep myself emotionally charged for those scenes,” relates Yoo Sun.
Nam Bo-ra who’s known in Korea for being a ‘proper-mannered’ celebrity shares, “The scenes I had to film after the tragic incident were particularly hard for me, as they required a lot of emotional acting.  But I’ve never personally experienced that kind of emotions, so I had to work hard in portraying those scenes.”
“Don’t Cry Mommy” will open on November 13 in local cinemas from Axinite Digicinema, Inc.

GIORDANO PHILIPPINES: Presents its Spring Summer 2014 Collection at Philippine Fashion Week

GIORDANO PHILIPPINES: Presents its Spring Summer 2014 Collection at Philippine Fashion Week
Giordano makes its Philippine Fashion Week debut with a Spring Summer collection that offers sea-side glamour and earthy appeal while staying true to its clean and casual vibe.
Providing essential and timeless fashion for all, the new collections, Holiday Cruise and Linen Story – up the Spring Summer 2014 ante with nautical elements, updated chambrays, summer linens and oxfords in crisp pastel palette.
All aboard cruise lines with posh beaches for stop-overs. Holiday Cruise is inspired by luxurious travels and sandy shores. Starting with a selection of Breton tops both for male and female paired with oxford and linen shorts, the look is reminiscent of the easy French Riviera fashion. The nautical theme sails on with a plethora of chambrays and various fabrics like Tencel® offered in a range of washes and prints from heavy indigo to washed-out shades.

Transitioning from the blues to a more summery palette, lightweight oxford shirts complete the Holiday Cruise collection. In solid chalky hues, the shirts look smart under a cotton blazer or worn as is. A few dresses add some feminine touch to the entire collection, while male polos with pieced patchwork keep the preppy charm.
Linen, a Giordano summer staple, will get a new lease on life with vivid prints and colors in the Linen Story collection.
Taking its roots from traditional Aztec, Navajo and Nomadic elements, the first part features tops, dresses and bottoms in such graphic prints.
The collection shifts from an earthy side to a burst of color in the form of button-down shirts in pure linen and cotton blends. Splashes of bright female tops and dresses also add punch to the story.

Cool and soothing to the eye, Summer Blues will cap off the entire Linen collection. Navy, indigo and powder blues will take center stage in an array of linen button-down shirts, pique polos and dip- dyed female tops and dresses.
Along with our wardrobe essentials like polos, solid tees, button-down shirts, jeans and khakis, Giordano’s SS2014 collections offer a fresh spin to its product selection that cater to different fashion sensibilities.
